Born in Toronto, Canada, and raised in Southern California, I now call Ventura, California, my home. I’ve traveled to many wonderful places but have yet to see and capture so much more. While I dream of photographing new destinations, I make the most of capturing my sleepy surf town of Ventura during the glory months from October through April.
Apart from winning a few local photography competitions, my biggest accomplishment to date is having my work featured at the Ventura Botanical Gardens (VBG). During Covid, VBG became a refuge for me. Just steps from my door, with wide open paths surprisingly void of people, I found solace in nature. I used my lunch breaks for scouting then headed out in the better light of golden and blue hours to capture the magic.
These hikes opened me up to a world of floral photography, which has since become a passion. Flowers make for excellent models—readily available and poised for beauty. Photography, for me, is the perfect mix of art, nature, and technical skills. I look forward to retirement, which will offer more travel and an expansion of my portfolio.
